2016 Yom L’Chayal Events Recap

Between December 12th and December 14th, the Naples and Weston communities were visited by the IDF Musical Ensemble, who entertained crowds with a lively concert series. Performances took place at Temple Shalom in Naples and B’nai Aviv in Weston.

The IDF Musical Ensemble is a five-person singing group composed of active-duty soldiers in the IDF. The ensemble performs in any and all locations where IDF forces are stationed. Additionally, the ensemble puts on shows on a voluntary basis for civilian populations. They sang and danced to a wide variety of traditional Israeli and Jewish songs.

Also in attendance was Lieutenant Noam Litt of the IDF, who gave a stirring and inspirational speech about his experience as a tank commander in the Israeli Army.

The event in Naples was co-sponsored by Beth Tikvah, the Holocaust Museum & Education Center of Southwest Florida, the Jewish Congregation of Marco Island, the Jewish Federation of Collier County, the Jewish Federation of Lee and Charlotte Counties, the Naples Jewish Congregation, Temple Shalom, the Zionist Organization of America, and the Women’s Cultural Alliance.

The supportive crowds who attended the events to enjoyed the music of the IDF Ensemble, but also came out to show their support for the soldiers of Israel.

In addition to performing at the two Yom L’Chayal events, the ensemble also visited FIDF supporters at schools and other community centers, including Sheck Hillel Community Day School and The Palace Senior Communities in Kendall and Coral Gables.
