Two IDF Naval Officers Killed in Car Accident

Hundreds of people attended IDF Naval officer Lt. Rafael Bublil’s funeral on Wednesday morning, June 27th, at the Kiryat Shaul cemetery in Tel Aviv. Bubil and fellow officer Capt. Omri Shahar were tragically killed in a car crash on Highway 4 following a get together of the officers’ unit. Two other officers were also injured.
The officers received initial medical care by a Magen David Adom (MDA) Emergency Care squad and were evacuated to a nearby hospital. "Once we arrived on the scene,” said an MDA spokesperson, “We began treating the passengers trapped in the vehicle. Two of them were found dead and another was severely injured. Treated on the site, he was later evacuated to the hospital anesthetized and mechanically ventilated. The fourth officer was trapped outside the vehicle."
FIDF sends strength and condolences to the Bublil and Shahar families in Israel, and prays for the soldiers still recovering from the accident.
