FIDF Hosts Private Film Screening of FOLLOW ME: The Yoni Netanyahu Story on 36th Anniversary of Entebbe Raid
Over 120 friends and supporters joined FIDF at the Tribeca Grand Hotel on June 27 for a private screening of the powerful film, FOLLOW ME: The Yoni Netanyahu Story. Hosted by Jordana Pomeranc and Family, the evening featured remarks from Shahar Azani, Consul for Media Affairs, Consulate General of Israel in New York and an exciting question and answer session with the film’s director and producer, Ari Daniel Pinchot. Guests were privileged to have in attendance three former Israeli combat soldiers who are current recipients of FIDF’s IMPACT! Scholarship Program.
A highly praised and award-winning film, FOLLOW ME: The Yoni Netanyahu Story depicts the challenges IDF soldiers face defending the Jewish Homeland and the heroic journey of Yoni Netanyahu in the raid on Entebbe. Making the evening ever more poignant, the screening date marked the 36th anniversary of the hijacking which resulted in Yoni Netanyahu’s departure to Entebbe for the fateful and historic mission.
Proceeds of the event benefited the construction of The Elias and Lila Kalimian Ramat Gan Home for Lone Soldiers, a three-story facility in Ramat Gan offering a residential place of respite for our brave Lone Soldiers.
A special thank you to Jordana Pomeranc and Family, Sally and Jack Pomeranc, the Weisfelner Family, the Shnay Family, Barry Brown Studios, Fiji Water, Victor Litvinov, and Liora Sternberg, whose generous sponsorship made the event possible.
