Greetings from the National YL mission to Israel

On Thursday, July 12th the National Young Leadership Mission joined over 400 soldiers from the Nachal Reconnaissance Battalion as well as 60 naval cadets for a truly special evening of friendship and fun at the R&R Facility in Ashkelon. NY Young Leadership sponsored the soldiers' SPIRIT WEEK vacation in Ashkelon which included a wide range of sports, entertainment, and educational activities and well deserved downtime.

Mission participants arrived for the soldiers' last night of their stay; together they enjoyed dinner, a performance by Beit Haboobot and a disco pool party. Before the band took the stage, the Deputy Battalion Commander invited National Young Leadership Director, Dan Haskell, NY Young Leadership President, Tony Felzen, to say a few words about how Young Leadership works to support the soldiers and the goal of the Mission. They both said that the group's time at Ashkelon was perhaps the highlight of an already very meaningful Mission itinerary.

Based on how much the soldiers danced and thanked the Mission participants, it was evident that the soldiers also had an amazing time in Ashkelon. Stay tuned for a full report from the 9th Annual Young Leadership Mission.
