Adopt a Battalion Program
Support a Battalion and Form an Extraordinary Bond

Army service is grueling. Often times the brightest part of a soldier’s day is a special meal or a small social gathering with his/her fellow soldiers. The Adopt a Battalion Program provides commanders with discretionary funds to pay for various wellbeing and recreational events that they believe will boost the morale of their soldiers. These special events permit soldiers a small and much-needed respite from combat duty. Donors also form a special connection with their adopted battalion; they receive letters with photos describing events that they sponsored, and many donors visit their soldiers in Israel.

The Adopt a Battalion Program Includes:
    • Events marking the end of Basic Training and honoring outstanding soldiers

    • Celebration of the Jewish New Year and Passover

    • General personal care and recreational needs, such as small gifts, backpacks, pouches with the battalion’s insignia and entertainment activities

    • In the first half of 2012, 36 battalions comprised of thousands of soldiers were adopted by FIDF families.

  • Cost: Adopting a battalion is $25,000 per year for 3 years.
