FIDF Young Leadership Takes a Gamble and WINS Again at the
6th Annual Poker & Casino Night
Over $165,000 Raised for Israel’s Soldiers
The Young Leadership Division of Friends Israel Defense Forces, Dezer Development and Universal Insurance Inc., joined together again to raise funds for Israel’s soldiers with the 6th Annual Poker & Casino Night on Saturday, October 9, 2010.
FIDF’s Young Leadership Division raised over $165,000 and had more than 800 guests in attendance!
Guests enjoyed their favorite casino games, while gambling the night away for a good cause. Daniel Ades of Kawa Capital won the Holdem Tournament and received a $10,000 entry to the World Poker Tour Event to be held in Las Vegas. Eduardo Szkolnik, the 2nd place winner, took home a $7,500 Krieger watch.
The event also featured a silent auction that raised nearly $20,000 and raffle packages with total value of nearly $20,000, featuring South Beach restaurants, original art work, fine jewelry and lavish vacation packages.
“The 6th Poker & Casino Night beat all expectations. In a tough economy, it is still possible to have a successful charity event when the cause is right! The after-party was amazing and we had people on the dance floor until 2:00am. We are blessed to have sponsors, local business and guests who come out and support our soldiers year after year,” said Brad Meier, President of the FIDF Young Leadership Division.
