Ohio Annual Gala Dinner
On October 5, over 450 people attended the Ohio Chapter Annual Gala Dinner, held at Landerhaven. The Gala Dinner was dedicated to the support of FIDF Educational Programs benefiting IDF soldiers. The significance of these programs is grounded in their contribution to the general knowledge of every soldier as well as to the society of Israel as a whole.
This year, the Gala’s special guest was Maj. Gen. (Res.) Moshe Kaplinsky, CEO of Better Place, Israel Ltd. and the FIDF representative in Israel.
One of the event’s highlights was the appearance of Nissim Siboni, once a troubled young kid and a member of a gang in Ashkelon who was sent to prison at an early age. Nissim turned his life around when he enlisted to the IDF and he is now serving as a paratrooper in an elite unit.
Representing National FIDF were National Chairman Arthur Stark, and National Director, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Yitzhak (Jerry) Gershon. They were joined by Lt. Col. Raz Karni, commander of Havat Hashomer base, who thanked the Cleveland Jewish Community for its special relationship with Havat Hashomer, “a relationship that strengthens both sides and helps us significantly in our important work.”
The evening was a unique opportunity to pay tribute to the IDF and send a message of love and support to the brave men and women serving in the IDF.
