$600,000 raised at NJ’s 10th Annual IDF Tribute Dinner
The former head of Israel’s Navy, Lone Soldiers from New Jersey, and former and active-duty IDF soldiers joined over 340 prominent lay leaders and FIDF supporters from across the Garden State for the New Jersey Chapter’s 10th Annual Gala. Held on Saturday, November 8th at the Hilton Secaucus Meadowlands in East Rutherford, the evening raised $600,000 for wellbeing programs supporting the men and women of the IDF.
Up Close and Personal with IDF Soldiers in Demarest, NJ!
On Thursday, March 13, NJ supporters in Demarest had the exclusive opportunity to experience IDF life firsthand, when active duty soldiers Lt. Einav and Lt. Tova came to speak. Hosted by Neil and Andrea Strahl at their home, the evening was filled with inspirational moments as each soldier shared her story.
NJ Bar Mitzvah Project shows the SPIRIT of FIDF!
In preparation for his upcoming Bar Mitzvah, Ben Pincus’ passion for Israel’s soldiers inspired him to raise money for FIDF’s SPIRIT Program. During the IDF delegation’s visit to NJ this month for the National NY Gala Dinner, Ben was fortunate enough to share with his peers the impact of SPIRIT directly, when a soldier joined him to speak at his school.

More than 350 prominent lay leaders and FIDF supporters from across New Jersey attended the Annual Dinner themed “Generations of Service, Generations of Giving, Generations of Lone Soldiers”.

On Saturday evening, November 5, Friends of the IDF supporters gathered together at the New Jersey Chapter’s 7th Annual IDF Tribute Dinner. More than 400 people attended the gala event held at the Sheraton Meadowlands in East Rutherford, to show their support for the soldiers of the IDF.

This October, IDF Lone Soldiers serving in combat and combat-support units participated in three Fun Days at Hof Dor beach in Israel, sponsored by funds raised by the Friends of the IDF New Jersey Chapter.

NJ Chapter Sponsors Three Fun Days for 1800 Lone Soldiers
This September, three Fun Days at Hof Dor beach in Israel.were organized for Lone Soldiers serving in combat units. The Fun Days, sponsored by funds raised from the 2009 New Jersey Dinner, enabled 1800 soldiers to be treated to a day of games, food, music, food, massages, and food.

2009 5th Annual Tribute Dinner Raised over $400,000 for our IDF Soldiers
The FIDF New Jersey Gala is dedicated to all IDF soldiers, and especially the approximately 5000 brave Lone Soldiers who serve their country every year despite dealing with numerous emotional and financial struggles. Having no immediate family in Israel, Lone Soldiers are usually either new immigrants, orphans, or Israeli-born soldiers estranged from their families.
IDF Orchestral Ensemble Performed at Congregation Gesher Shalom
On Wednesday March 10, 2010, the IDF Orchestral Ensemble performed at Congregation Gesher Shalom joined by the Israel and World Advocacy Committee and the synagogues Sisterhood.
Tzahal Shalom officers come to New Jersey for outreach efforts in the community
On Thursday April 15, 2010 FIDF & Stamford Tzahal Shalom kick-off Yom HaAtzmaut at Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School. The soldiers in attendance were graciously welcomed by the 9th-12th grade, and spoke to the students about their army service. It was a very eye opening afternoon for the students hearing from soldiers a few years their senior speak about their experience guarding our homeland as opposed to filling out college applications.
On Saturday April 17, 2010 the soldiers were hosted by Congregation Netivot Shalom where the entire congregation gathered to hear the soldiers share their stories and experiences from the frontlines. In support of the Soldiers the congregation has made a generous donation to the FIDF DIGNITY Program
The Sephardic Community of New Jersey Supports FIDF LEGACY Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program
For the past 4 years, the Sephardic Community of Deal, NJ has opened their hearts and their homes to the Legacy children. Many wonderful young volunteers from the community selflessly dedicate their time to interact with the children and help make this program a success.
