Guys Night Out - A Spectacular Evening!
The San Diego Chapter of the FIDF held its first Guys Night Out event on April 14, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency, La Jolla. The event was in memory of David Feder, father of Event Co-Chair Dan Feder, who proudly served in an IDF Paratrooper' Brigade. In 1993, David Feder was tragically killed in an automobile accident at the age of 47.
Guys Night Out was a phenomenal success and raised over $40,000 in donations. Half of the money raised came from sponsorship contributions. With the funds raised, the Chapter an IMPACT! Scholarship to a former combat soldier who could not otherwise afford higher education.
Board Members, Dan Feder and Anthony Josephson, co-chaired the event, with over 130 participants in attendance, 80 poker players, a vibrant silent auction and raffle. The 2011 San Diego Chargers Cheerleaders made a surprise appearance and entertained the crowd. Given the success of this event, it was decided to make Guys Night Out an annual fundraising event!
