Wounded soldiers meet with FIDF Tri-State Regions’ top supporters at FIDF appreciation evening
Ruth and Fred Schwalbe, longtime FIDF supporters, hosted a VIP Appreciation cocktail party on Monday, July 18 at their Upper East Side apartment for some of FIDF’s closest and oldest friends. Ruth, the daughter of one of FIDF’s founders John Klein z”l, spoke at the event about the vision that her father had more than 30 years ago for an organization that would provide support and assistance to the brave men and women who so proudly defend Israel.
The guests had the unique opportunity to hear from six incredible young men, wounded warriors who were injured while serving in the IDF. These heroes were wounded in various wars and operations, including the Second Intifada, the Second Lebanon War and Operation Cast Lead, and several of them continue to undergo rehabilitation. The wounded soldiers are visiting the States to participate in the Wounded Warrior Project’s Soldier Ride, a three-day adaptive cycling event for wounded veterans and their supporters.
