FIDF Tri-State Region hosts 2nd annual Family Fun Day
On Sunday, September 18, young families enjoyed a festive “Sunday Family Fun Day” sponsored by Friends of the IDF New York Tri State Region and co-chaired by Zoya Raines Friedman and Naftali Robert Friedman.
The event was held at Park East Synagogue, who graciously hosted FIDF’s Fun Day for the second year running. Guests were greeted at the entrance by a photographer and a digital photo booth, and then entered into a room filled with games and activities. Children (and parents!) enjoyed a bouncy house, carnival-style games, basketball, face painting, balloon animals and cotton candy. The highlight of the morning was a drum circle led by two professional drummers. Everyone, from babies to grownups, had the chance to play with different percussion instruments and create group rhythms.
The Fun Day offered unique ways for families and their young children to interact with IDF Officers in uniform and to salute and support Israel and the brave young men and women who defend the Jewish Homeland. Children wrote and decorated cards to be send to soldier, and parents bought raffle tickets for the chance to win complimentary attendance to the FIDF National New York Gala Dinner that will be held on March 13th 2012 at the Waldorf=Astoria in NYC.
