Is there proper attire during the delegation?

  • The average temperature in Poland during the month of April is low 30’s to high 50’s Fahrenheit. Please make sure to bring warm clothes for this leg of the trip.
  • The average temperature in Israel during the month of April is low 50’s to high 70’s Fahrenheit. Jerusalem tends to be chilly in the evening, so please bring additional layers of clothing.
  • Please bring water-proof walking shoes/sneakers for both Poland and Israel.
  • Most activities in Israel do not require formal attire. Casual and comfortable clothes are recommended.
  • For the Memorial Day ceremony, please wear white top.
  • For the dinner at the President’s residence, business attire is required.
  • For Friday night in Israel, formal Shabbat clothes are appropriate.
  • Please note that the last night of the delegation is a farewell dance party.

What other recommendations FIDF suggests in preparation for the delegation?

  • We recommend purchasing the following insurances: Travel, Baggage and Medical insurance
  • For people taking medication - people taking medication, please make sure to bring enough with you for the trip and carry it in the hand luggage. This is because many forms of medication that are over the counter in the U.S. are not considered over the counter in Poland and Israel, and some U.S. prescriptions will not be honored by pharmacies for anything not over the counter.
  • Special food - If you have food allergies such as Gluten or nuts or any other allergies, please take the necessary precautions since we cannot guarantee that the food we provide does not have these components.

For any further questions, please post a question on the FIDF 30th Anniversary Delegation Discussion Group online, or contact your Executive Director.
