Young Professional Cleveland’s Snow Ball Winter Party
DJ Itay Galo of Atisuto from Tel Aviv brought the hype of Israeli clubs and his “Crazy” beats to Cleveland on Monday, December 24, 2012. Ohio’s FIDF Young Professional Chapter in partnership with Hillel and Federation’s YLD (Young Leadership Division) hosted this dynamic party, Snow Ball 2012, with much success. The three Cleveland organizations brought together over 300 young professionals who ate, drank, mingled, and danced the night away. The event’s co-chairs Brad Somogyi, Justin Pearl, and Melissa Aizen were thrilled with the wonderful turnout and the community’s enthusiasm for the gathering.
Snow Ball 2012, held at Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar located in Eton Collection on Chagrin Blvd, offered a fun trendy and social environment. The top notch evening offered delicious Latin Fusion food catered by Chef Yuval along with a special rum bar, dancing, and great company. The guests enjoyed the flavors of Latin America while treasuring time with friends, meeting new people and networking with other young professionals in the community.
Co-chair Brad Somogyi said that for several years, Cleveland's Jewish community has lacked a go-to party on Christmas Eve. He and the other co-chairs were happy to revive the idea with this remarkable gathering. Somogyi said, “We did not know exactly what to expect, but we are ecstatic about the number of people who attended and the energy they brought to the event. Young Jewish people from diverse backgrounds came together for an unforgettable night of celebration. We are also grateful to DJ Itay for providing the unique experience and bringing a piece of Israel to Cleveland.”
This event was also successful by exposing a large portion of the young Cleveland community to FIDF for the first time. Through a social environment, these professionals were introduced to the valuable services we provide to the young men and women of the IDF. “We hope they will keep FIDF and Israel's soldiers in their minds and hearts in the future as we expand our presence in the community” says Somogyi.
A special thanks goes to Jonathan Koslen of New Image Photography for capturing the evening, to our event volunteers for helping it run smoothly, and to everyone who came out for a fun night out on the town to show their support.
