Cellist Elad Kabilio Delights at Private Westchester Concert!
On Thursday, May 8th a group of Westchester/CT friends gathered at the home of Ilissa and Paul Warhit for a special private concert by acclaimed cellist Elad Kabilio. The performance was donated by Kabilio as part of the raffle from the 2013 Westchester/Connecticut Gala. The lucky recipients were Ilissa and Paul Warhit, who invited a notable list of 16 guests to their home to enjoy the performance alongside them.
Israeli cellist Elad Kabilio is an active soloist, chamber musician and a teaching artist. He has recently performed at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Morgan Library, and the Joyce Theater in New York City. In 2011, Elad was appointed Music Director of Ballet Next, New York’s new top Ballet Company, to critical acclaim. Elad studied at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel-Aviv University, where he received both his Bachelors and Master of Music degrees. He is a graduate of Mannes College of Music in New York City and the Manhattan School of Music where he received a Professional Studies Diploma. He also served as a member of the Israel Defense Forces String Quartet and performed at the FIDF Westchester/Connecticut Gala in 2012 and 2013.
Currently, he is focused on his project MusicTalks, which brings classical music to an intimate and informal setting. Performed by the finest young artists, MusicTalks breaks down the barriers between musicians and audience by taking advantage of the intimacy that chamber music provides.
The evening was a beautiful continuation of the past year’s gala and guests left feeling moved by the music and enthused by the common desire to support Israel’s soldiers. Special thanks to hosts Ilissa and Paul Warhit, whose son Joshua Warhit is currently serving as a Long Soldier in the Nachal Unit of the IDF.
