Coffee and Conversation: NYC Breakfast with IDF Soldiers!

Rather than a bagel and coffee on the run, a group of NYC supporters sat down with IDF soldiers over breakfast on May 2. The event, title “The Many Faces of the Israel Defense Forces: The Melting Pot of Israeli Society” included a panel a discussion featuring active duty IDF officers. Held at MSD Capital, the event was hosted by Westchester supporters Joel Asfine and Aram Rubinson, who also served as the panel moderator. Along with the 30 attendees, the breakfast included active duty soldiers Capt. Idan, Capt. Gal, Capt. Eitan and IMPACT! Scholarship recipients and IDF reserve officers Sergeant Major Oren and Staff Sergeant Marina. The soldiers spoke about daily life and struggles while serving in the IDF and the important role FIDF plays to aid soldiers through this time. Specifically, Sergeant Major Oren and Staff Sergeant Marina spoke of the tremendous support they received continuing their education through the IMPACT! Scholarship Program. Within the room there were 10 IMPACT! Scholarship donors, including 2 new scholarships pledged by donors motivated by the morning’s presentation.
