Sunday, March 2, 2014-- FIDF Young Leadership Miami organized two teams to bowl at Splitsville Luxury Lanes with a Lone Soldier from Peru that is serving in the IDF, Corporal Monica C. Monica’s position in the IDF is to protect the Iron Dome devices. We learned that it’s not an easy task, and very important. The Iron Dome device intercepts rockets that are fired targeting Israel.

As a Lone Soldier coming from Peru, her native tongue was Spanish. Monica learned Hebrew in five months and sees herself serving and protecting Israel for years to come. She misses her family dearly, but the FIDF helps to
ensure that she is comfortable and never feels alone.

Guests at the event taught the Lone Soldier how to bowl (it was her first time), and the top 5 bowlers left with gift cards for $50.00 to Sushi Samba!

Overall, this was a unique event and very special opportunity for locals in the South Miami area to learn about FIDF and connect with a Lone Soldier that serves on the front lines to protect our Jewish homeland. Our experience here was memorable, fun and ultimately, priceless.
