Thank you so much to everyone that joined us at the Merrick Jewish Centre over Hanukkah for the IDF Musical Ensemble in Concert!
We were thrilled to be back at the MJC this year for a wonderful community celebration of Hanukkah in support of Israel’s brave soldiers. Over 500 people joined us for the celebratory evening. We were pleased to have Betty Klein as the Master of Ceremonies as well as Rabbi Charles Klein and Rabbi Ravid Tilles of the MJC and US Representative Kathleen Rice join us for the event. From Hanukkah songs to Israeli music, they inspired all in attendance. By the end of the concert, people were singing and dancing in the aisles feeling inspired by the music.
We also welcomed Capt. Zvika of the Border Police Unit who shared his story from the frontlines of defense. In his position, he is continually faced with situations that put both the soldiers in his unit and Israeli civilians in danger. He explains, “the threat in Jerusalem is constant. My soldiers and I need to be on alert every moment of the day, in order to stop the terror attacks.” Thank you to Capt. Zvika for all you do to keep Israel safe, we appreciate your bravery and commitment. Together, as a community, we showed Capt. Zvika, and all other IDF soldiers that we continually support them, and that we always have their backs. Thank you to everyone that joined us to celebrate and support Israel’s soldiers, as well as to the Event Committee for helping organize these phenomenal events in our community. The Hanukkah concerts would not have been such a success without all of you!
